October 7, 2019 World Habitat Day in Cameroon: a time to rethink our spheres of life
Organized annually since 1985 and on the first Monday in October, World Habitat Day is the result of United Nations General Assembly resolution 40/202 of 17 December 1985.
The purpose of World Habitat Day is to take stock of the state of our cities and towns and the fundamental right of all to adequate housing. It is also intended to remind the world that we all have the power and responsibility to shape the future of our cities and towns. »
In 2019, under the theme « Leading edge technologies as an innovative tool to transform waste into wealth », Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé, will host the global observance of World Habitat Day on 7 October.
This major event for housing in Cameroon, Africa and the world is an opportunity to gather reflections on the year’s theme. The invitation is therefore extended to all individuals who want to be involved in the development of our living spaces to share their vision of housing and especially waste management, which are integrated into our daily lives.
